This dramatic engraving, titled The Rocks of Suli, captures a mountainous landscape dominated by craggy peaks and steep valleys. A fortress-like structure, perched prominently on a rocky slope, is surrounded by winding paths and additional watchtowers in the distance, suggesting a strategic location. In the foreground, a small group of travelers, including a reclining figure, observe the vast terrain. Drawn by C. Stanfield and engraved by J. Cousen, the print was published in 1833 by J. Murray. It vividly conveys the rugged beauty and isolation of this alpine stronghold.
