Our Story Begins in 1973
Our journey began in the year 1973 with our late Grandfather, Lavjibhai Mohanbhai Tank, a visionary with a profound love for traditional Indian art. He started by sourcing exquisite Pichwais from the culturally vibrant regions of Rajasthan and selling them in Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore. What began as a modest trade soon blossomed into a trusted name in the world of heritage art.
The Rise of “Anil's”
In 1978, Lavjibhai’s son, Anil Lavjibhai Tank, joined the family business with enthusiasm and a keen eye for quality craftsmanship. He formally established the business under the name “Anil’s”, setting up a store in the iconic Flora Fountain, Fort, Mumbai. Under Anil’s guidance, the business diversified and flourished, curating a wide range of Pichwais, traditional paintings, bronze sculptures, terracotta (clay) artworks, stone and wooden carvings, silver artifacts, and an array of handcrafted collectibles. Whether for home décor or personal art collections, “Anil’s” became a trusted destination for connoisseurs and collectors alike. For over 50 years, the father-son duo passionately ran the business, building long-standing relationships with artists, patrons, and collectors from across India and abroad.
A New Chapter: TANK’S ANTIQUES
In 2023, with Anil Tank gradually stepping back from daily operations, a new generation entered the frame. Hardik Anil Tank, Anil’s son, who has successfully led a BPO business for over a decade, has now taken the helm of the family legacy. Blending tradition with modern vision, Hardik rebranded the business as TANK’S ANTIQUES and embarked on a new journey — one that honors the past while embracing the future.
