FRANTS ENST DE BILLE, Chamberlain to the King of Denmark, Grand Cross of the Order of Dannebrog, was born in Copenhagen a little more than seventy years ago; yet is he a young man who does not look nearly his age. His father was an Admiral-the most popular sailor Dane of his day; so he began life in the Army. When he had served for fourteen years (and through the Danish-German War of 1864), he went into the Diplomatic Service to such purpose that, after being sent to Paris, Washington (where he been Minister married), and Stockholm, he has now Plenipotentiary to the Court of St. James for thirteen years without making an enemy. Himself and Madame de Bille are as well known in London Society as his family is in Copenhagen; and they have a charming daughter and two sons. When fully dressed he a very beautiful scarlet and gold coat which puts him in pleasing contrast with the blue and other dull costumes of his colleagues. He is a fine upright man of most agreeable manners, who is fond of pictures and speaks English very well.
