This is a 19th-century hand-colored engraving titled “Newstead Abbey”, drawn by T. Allom after a sketch by E. Fellows, and engraved by J. Tingle. The view features the historic Newstead Abbey—once a monastic house and later the ancestral home of poet Lord Byron—set against a dramatic sky with a vivid rainbow. The abbey’s Gothic facade reflects on a serene lake where small sailboats glide, while figures in the foreground enjoy the picturesque scenery. Published in 1834 by Fisher, Son & Co., London, this romantic depiction emphasizes both the architectural grandeur and tranquil natural beauty of the site.
