This bronze artifact is a Prabhavali—a traditional ornamental arch typically placed behind Hindu deity idols in temples or shrines. It features a central rectangular opening, which would frame the deity, while the upper section is adorned with intricate motifs, including intertwined serpents (nagas) and a kalasha (sacred pot), symbolizing prosperity and divine presence. The radiating flame-like patterns around the arch represent spiritual aura or divine energy. This piece is a fine example of sacred South Indian bronze craftsmanship.
