The angel, depicted with wings and a staff, gestures toward young Tobit (or Tobias), who kneels at the water’s edge holding a large fish. The background features tall trees and distant architectural ruins atop a rocky hill. This imagery refers to the apocryphal Book of Tobit, where the angel Raphael guides Tobias and instructs him to catch a fish whose organs will be used for healing. The engraving is marked “Domenichino”, indicating it is after a work by the Italian Baroque artist Domenichino.
